I start companies and movements. I read, write, invest, coach and speak.
I write a newsletter, Rolling Across My Desk, that goes out to about 25,000 readers (archives, testimonials, subscribe).
And, today, I’m widely known for running the Never Search Alone movement – a free, volunteer-led suite of services for anyone laid off, let go, or looking.
Our north star is simple: make this program as ubiquitous as AA.
We are making progress towards this north star:
- 45,000 job seekers helped
- 4,000+ volunteers
- 4,500+ Job Search Councils launched
There's a book, website, and coverage in Lenny's Podcast, a prominent Silicon Valley podcast.
In the 90s and 2000s, I was best known as a pioneer in customer experience and product management (I was CEO of one of the first firms in that space and if you've come across widely used CX or Product Management concepts, chances are my team and I helped shape them).
I also run the following companies and programs:
Collaborative Gain – In 2003, I started bringing peer-led Councils to Silicon Valley, and non-CEOs, for the first time. I launched with Amazon, Google, and others and today we run Executive Councils (VP, CPO, CEO), and Associate Councils,(for rising stars in product management).
Coaching of CEOs and Chief Product Officers;
World of Business Reading Group – a pro-bono business literacy program that I started based on Warren Buffet's shareholder letters; we run a major high school summer program and are rolling out adult classes;
Slow Art Day – I launched this global art movement in 2010 with the goal of helping people learn how to slow down, look at and love art; (Washington Post * Annual Reports)
I also give talks and guest lectures.
Right now I’m on a speaking tour about AI and about Never Search Alone. Next stop (July 2025) is a tour of Asia.
