We mention this above, but here’s more detail.
- We look for people with same level of tenure in their careers
- Then we split them into sub-groups depending on whether they are unemployed (“fast-seekers”) or working while looking (“slow seekers”), or students
- Then we assemble councils of 4-5 job seekers with similar tenure and speed (i.e., fast or slow) with a volunteer moderator who also meets the same criteria
Note: we do NOT put people together in the same industry or even the same function (though we try to have at least 2 of the same function – so it might be a mix of 2 product managers, 2 ux folks, and 2 marketers…all with the same tenure and speed (i.e., “fast” or “slow” seekers).
