How does the matching work?

We mention this above, but here’s more detail.

  1. We look for people with same level of tenure in their careers
  2. Then we split them into sub-groups depending on whether they are unemployed (“fast-seekers”) or working while looking (“slow seekers”), or students
  3. Then we assemble councils of 4-5 job seekers with similar tenure and speed (i.e., fast or slow) with a volunteer moderator who also meets the same criteria

Note: we do NOT put people together in the same industry or even the same function (though we try to have at least 2 of the same function – so it might be a mix of 2 product managers, 2 ux folks, and 2 marketers…all with the same tenure and speed (i.e., “fast” or “slow” seekers).
